Building Biologist Shaun Kranish recommends eliminating any chance of dirty electricity by connecting your router or modem to a Ethernet Grounding Cord. The Grounding Cord is hand made with has a component that lets you plug one grounded cable into your router or modem or WiFi and then another Shielded Ethernet Cable into your computer or to an adapter for laptops and smartphones.
Shielded Ethernet cables work great to protect you from the pulses of electricity that often ride on network cables, but only if your internet access point in you home is grounded or if the source of your network--your WiFi router for instance, is grounded- and that's what this Grounding Cord does.
The Ethernet Grounding Cord comes with one 5' Grounded Ethernet Cable to stick in one side of the component and you can purchase other shielded cables to put on the other side of the component which will then link up to your computer or adapter for your devices.
Shaun tells us:
Laptop computers are almost always un-grounded. When the laptop is plugged-in to the charger, and the laptop user is nearby or touching the computer - the user is being greatly exposed to high-frequency current. This has been measured in the lab. When a laptop is grounded through its Ethernet port with this adapter, it greatly reduces this current. The most recent test showed a nearly 98% reduction in current traveling through the human body as soon as the ElectraHealth Ethernet Grounding Adapter was plugged-in.
Important Note: Use a wired router or switch that has metal trim and tabs on its ports - then you only need one Grounded Ethernet Electrical Cord- all the grounded Ethernet cables will be protected with the one Grounding Ethernet Electrical Cord.
If your router/switch has plastic ports and no metal trim+tabs inside of the sides of the port, then you would need one of these adapters for each cable you plug in.

11 Foot grounding cord for convenience
Cat6A approved adapter is future-proof for gigabit speeds and beyond.
1 foot shielded cat6 Ethernet cable
How to use:
Use this adapter kit to ground a laptop or other portable device. It can also be used to ground long Ethernet runs from one room to another or through walls. Desktop computers with grounded plugs do NOT need this adapter. But other non-grounded devices like laptops and printers should use this adapter to reduce electric field readings near the body AND ground the unit greatly reducing high frequency contact current. If you have a long cable run going from a modem to a router, or a router to a switch, etc, and would like to make sure electric fields do not propagate on the Ethernet wire, this grounding kit is great for that use as well.
Simply plug the 1 foot cable into one device, then plug it into the grounding adapter, make sure you plug the grounding adapter into a properly grounded outlet (use this outlet tester to make sure). Then plug a longer Premium Shielded Ethernet Cable into the adapter and into your other device. You can use the short or long cable wherever you like - it is fully bi-directional. So set it up however is most convenient.
