Every week I get a DM or email asking, "Does this phone chip work?"
There are so many of them on the market now they even have silly click-bait sites that "rate" "The Five Best Anti EMF Chips" Or "The Top Anti-EMF Chips" Did you know that these Rating sites simply re-publish the Anti-EMF claims. They don't try them, they don't know if they work, they don't do scientific studies- They just want you to click on one of buy options so they get a commission off your purchase!
Please know This: The Scientific Research Is Lacking When It Comes To Proof That Stickers and Chips for Phones Protect Us From EMF Radiation.
I'm going to share just a few examples of claims vs research:
• Many Harmonizers and Chips Claim To Increase Brain Wave Power.
• But Here's The Crazy Thing, EMF ALSO INCREASES Brain Wave Power According To Solid Scientific Studies.
• BodyWell BioChip Claims It's Mobile PhoneChip increased Alpha activity. BUT...
•.Scientific Reports Published A Study Showing EMF ALSO Increases Alpha activity!
• Body Well has a YouTube video and a website page devoted to, How Our Technology Affects The Brain, "The findings were intriguing: When the protective card (imbued with MobileTek® technology) was used in conjunction with a phone, there was a notable increase in the alpha-indexes across all participants. Moreover, alpha-power increased in two-thirds (66%) of the cases, a result backed by statistical significance."
Meanwhile, the fifth most cited research journal in the world, found that EMF (like what happened with the BodyWell chip) caused an increase in Alpha brainwave activity, "Our study provides compelling statistical evidence for the occurrence of increased alpha activity during EMF exposure" the EMF and Brain Wave Study reports.
So I don't recommend putting a chip on a a cellphone that has been proven to increase alpha brain wave activity when EMF exposure has also been proven to increase alpha brain wave activity.
When You See A Claim Based On Research or Proof, Make Sure The Proof is Actually There.
Body Well claims that their chip blocks EMF radiation. Let's set aside for a moment the question of whether or not that claim could even possibly be true. The research that the company is using to sell you a chip TODAY, was actually done over a decade ago! Even if it did work in the research, you have no reason to believe that it would work today in our much more highly powered wireless world.
You can read right on their website that the report was done over a decade ago, using an iPhone 5 (seriously?) and a Galaxy from the same era. The iPhone 5 only supported 3g, and guess what, you can't even use a 3G phone in America today. That is like two generations ago--no 4G, no 4G LTE and definitely no 5G. The power output of phones is so much stronger today --SO much.
Trying to prove this is believable science, even at the time it was done, is difficult for me. We don't even know how big the "Chip" was and where it was placed for testing. Was it right over the antenna? The lab would have photos, but they are not published by Bodywell.
This is the kind of thing I run into all the time: Really outdated and/or bad research to support a claim that may not be true or can no longer be substantiated is being used to sell you a product.
I can't recommend a chip based on a claim made using outdated equipment with a signal that doesn't even exist today.
I get top notch research guidance when I look into any product's studies. World renowned EMF expert Olle Johansson breaks down what the research is really saying vs the what the heavily advertised harmonizer Somavedic was claiming in our article about anti-EMF harmonizers here. You have to read it for yourself. The folks at Somavedic actually took an a legal action against me to have the article removed. After months of legal wrangling, during which time I completely stood by the story and it remained live on our site, I agreed to remove about 20 words from the longest story on Tech Wellness. The article you can read today, is as clearly skeptical of this product as it was the first day it was written. It's worth a read because this company is still in business and vaguely promises that it "respond(s) to certain frequencies of electromagnetic radiation" and "transforms EMF" and can cost up to $5650. There's even a new bracelet that "absorbs and stores energy from your Somavedic device, providing 12 to 48 hours of harmonizing energy." I am not making this up. The company had asked me to sell the product for them and earn a ridiculously hefty commission. (Realize that often influencers themselves are influenced by big commissions.) So, I actually purchased two Somavedics at full price to see for myself. I didn't find they made it easier to sleep, or help with any of my EHS symptoms.
