A Word About Value

Simple Setup for Perfect Peace of Mind

There are two very easy ways to set up your canopy. 

• If you're like me, you ran out to the local furniture store and had a canopy bed delivered the next day.  Here's where we got ours.  There are plenty of stores that can help you. Did it cost more.  Yes, it did.  But we hadn't changed our bed frame out in a while and getting our canopy set up quickly made it worthwhile.  

 • The other way is to follow the installation instructions that come with your canopy.  You don't have to worry about complicated engineering to hang this beautifully. The canopy is designed to slide right onto a simple frame and suspend seamlessly from your ceiling for a gorgeous, finished look.  All you have to do is run over to the hardware store and buy some wooden dowels, some eye hooks and some nylon cord.  (Those parts are not included with the canopy because of different design needs and the cost of shipping long wooden dowels that are available at every hardware store)

• The Top Frame: The top of the canopy has hidden fabric loops. You just slide standard wooden dowels (available at any local hardware store) right through them.

• The Look: Once the dowels are in, the fabric drapes perfectly across the top and falls straight down around your bed, keeping the canopy open and looking like high-end bedroom decor.

Important Safety Note from August:

Because this canopy acts as an impenetrable mirror to wireless signals, never bring a cell phone, tablet, or wireless device inside the canopy with you. We have tested this extensively and found that if you bring an active device inside, it will struggle to find a signal through the protective shield. It will ramp up its power to its absolute maximum capacity to stay connected, and the radiation inside the canopy will actually go way UP from what you would get if you weren't in the canopy at all. Unplug, step inside your sanctuary, and leave the tech in the other room!

What the Research Says: Shielding, Common Sense, and Safety

Recent EMF research has found that caution (really some common sense) needs to be exercised with some shielding. Here is what studies tell us about the safety and efficacy of EMF canopies:

"The use of a shielding bed canopy during sleep would theoretically be safer than permanent shielding of the house on the condition that any electronic device should be out of the canopy (and even better: turned off) during sleep. In such a case, it is possible that any trend for internal desynchronization due to the attenuation of the natural EMFs during the sleep time will be restored during the remaining hours of the day. This option of intermittent shielding also seems to be safer than wearing shielding garments."

• The Priority: The best and most effective thing to do to make your bedroom safe is to FIRST shut off all EMF sources in your own home.

• Consultation & Assessment: When the Swiss Shield® fabric is installed, its location, quantity, and proper installation should ideally be determined by a trained EMF specialist or EMF consultant. Because this fabric reflects radio frequency radiation, improper installation can result in increased exposure if internal ambient loops are created. • Testing Performance: To ensure optimum screening performance, a specialist or consultant should assess your living space for both Radio Frequency “RF” Radiation and AC Electric Fields. Taking before and after measurements is incredibly important to determine the overall effectiveness of your shield. • A Note on Grounding: All Swiss Shield fabrics reflect high-frequency electromagnetic waves and are not externally conductive, therefore there is no need for grounding (except for Naturell Ultra).

• No Electronics: Please do not use electronic or electrical devices near or under the fabric. Your exposure can and will increase!

• Fire Safety & Use: Swiss Shield® fabric is not fire retardant. Use with caution and at your own risk. Do not use this product outdoors.

• Floor Mat Recommendations: If you live on level 2 or higher of a home or building, I highly recommend using an accompanying EMF shielding floor mat too underneath your bed frame.

Installation Notes:

• Ceiling Mountable: Requires Qty = three 7 to 8 foot hardwood dowels, mounting hardware, and string for suspension to the ceiling (all of which can be easily picked up at a local hardware store or a drapery outlet).

• Floor Shielding: A floor shield is highly recommended if an active living space exists directly below your canopy's bedroom location.

• Proper Closure: Ensure all 3 overlapping openings are cleanly closed completely upon entry to maintain the full Faraday shield protection.

• De-energizing Frequencies: For best results, de-energize all electrical circuits running through the ceilings, walls, and floors of your sleeping area. You can verify this using an AC electric field meter or a body voltage meter.
