Olle Johansson, PhD

Olle Johansson, PhD

I first met Olle at a conference in England designed for people who suffer from EHS, and he was a delight.  It wasn't until I got to know him and interviewed him for our Thriving With Technology podcast, that I learned how large his impact has been in the research around electromagnetic fields.

A Global Authority on Neuroscience and EMF

Professor Olle Johansson is a world-leading authority on the health effects of modern communication technology. During his legendary tenure at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm (the prestigious institution that helps award the Nobel Prize in Medicine), he pioneered the study of Electrohypersensitivity (EHS).

So far, he has published or co-authored 353 papers and has been cited 24,839 times!

He Actually Discovered That People Could React to EMFs

Professor Johansson was the first scientist to document the skin and cellular changes associated with "screen dermatitis" and EHS. His courageous research has spent decades investigating the neurological and biological impacts of man-made electromagnetic fields (EMFs), providing the global scientific community with a foundational understanding of how our bodies react to digital environments.

A Legacy of Research

With hundreds of peer-reviewed publications to his name, Professor Johansson’s work has been instrumental in shaping the conversation around digital safety. At Tech Wellness, his deep expertise in neuroscience ensures that our guidance is rooted in a fundamental understanding of human biology and the long-term effects of technological exposure.
