10 Ways to Minimize EMF From Your Phone
In light of the recent iPhone 12 ban in France, it’s important to understand that ALL smart phones expose you to extreme levels of EMF radiation and must be used with caution and care.
Here are 10 ways you can start reducing your EMF exposure from your phone:
- Keep a smart distance from your smart phone: When it comes to EMF, distance is your friend. Radiation dissipates with distance - so creating space between you and the source is a guaranteed way to lower your exposure.
- Create a happy habit: Your devices are sending or receiving wireless energy even when you're not using them, so switch to Airplane Mode or turn it off whenever you can. Make sure Bluetooth and WiFi are disabled too!
- Don’t give in to 5G: If you have an iPhone 12 or later, disable your 5G so that your phone doesn’t try to connect to nearby 5G towers. 5G is powered by waves much higher on the spectrum and we have yet to see how that will affect us biologically.
- Ditch the AirPods: If you’re still wearing AirPods (or any bluetooth headphones) this is your sign to throw them out and replace with wired headphones.
- Sleep sweeter: It’s extra important to reduce exposure while you sleep so you can get all the benefits of rejuvenating rest. That’s why you should make your bedroom a “no phone zone” and charge your phone in another room while your sleep.
- Mo bars mo betta: The fewer signal bars your phone is showing, the great the radiation (sometimes double compared to full signal) So be aware - If you’ve only got a bar or two, make sure you aren’t holding the phone and push it as far away as you can.
- Don’t talk, text: Whenever you can, text instead of calling. The total radiation is lower because you’re not generating a continuous back and forth signal.
- Be stylus-ish. To keep your hands and fingers from being exposed to wireless energy directly, use a stylus. (It’s basically a pen for your screens). Every inch of distance really makes a difference.
- Who wore it worse: Please please don't carry your cell phone in your hand, your pocket, or your bra when it's on. Consider a faraday bag, phone strap or keeping it on Airplane Mode if it’s being carried close to your body.
- Back away from the phone: The best thing you can do the reduce your EMF radiation from your phone is to use it less. Simple? Yes. Effective? Ohh yeah! And your mental health will thank you too. Try a weekly or daily digital detox - here are some ideas.
